Campbell, Clara A.

Mrs. Clara A. Campbell, wife of Wm. A. Campbell of Jefferson City, died on the 21st.  She was a pioneer of 1864.

Cardwell, Edward

Senator Edward Cardwell, 81 years of age died yesterday morning at the home ranch near Cardwell, Jefferson county, after a lingering illness.  Senator Cardwell's death was momentarily expected for days and close friends stayed with him until the end came.  When the news reached Butte many were the expressions of regret which were voiced by pioneers who had known him intimately for years.

Cooke, Vinning

Vinning Cooke, postmaster at Boulder, Jefferson county, died on the 4th inst.  He was 55 years of age.

Dougherty, Susan Hilger

Mrs. E. G. Dougherty, of Boulder, died yesterday evening at 5 o'clock at her home in that place after a brief illness.  The remains will be interred in the Catholic cemetery at Helena, the funeral to take place tomorrow immediately on the arrival of the Montana Central train at 11:25 a.m.  Deceased, formerly Miss Susan Hilger, was the daughter of Judge N. Hilger and grew up from childhood in Helena, where she had a host of friends.  She had been married only four or five years and leaves two or three small children.  Her death will bring untold grief to her family and sorrows to a large circle of friends.
