Cavane, Olive

Miss Olive Cavane, aged 12 years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Cavane, died yesterday of a complication following scarlet fever.

Corey, Violet Dortha

Violet Dortha, the eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Corey, died at the Craig hospital Tuesday.  She leaves besides a father and mother, two sisters and three brothers.  The funeral was held Friday.

Cosgriff, Mary E. Macken

Tuesday, March 23rd, at 5:30 p.m., Mary E. Cosgriff, wife of Thos. Cosgriff, of Greycliff, died at the home of Mrs. A. Duffy in this city.  She had been dangerously ill but two weeks.  Her maiden name was Mary E. Macken and was born on Feb. 14, 1863, at Black Earth, Wis.  Her parents died while she was still a baby, and during her childhood days she resided with her grand parents.  On Sept. 24, 1884, she was united to her life companion, the marriage ceremony taking place at Grand Junction, Iowa.  They then came to Montana, taking up their residence at Springdale, from there moving to Greycliff.  In 1891 they moved back to Iowa, and three years later returned to this county, taking up a homestead near Greycliff, on which the family still reside.  Besides her bereaved husband, six children survive: James W., aged 22; Fred, aged 20; Leo, aged 17; Helen, aged 15; Harold, aged 13; Dick, aged 11.  She had but one brother, who died several years ago.  She was an earnest believer of the Roman Catholic faith, and was administer the rights of the church by Fr. Blaere, of Livingston, a short time previous to her death.  The funeral ceremonies were held this forenoon in the Auditorium at 10:30 o'clockFr. Blaere officiating.  Special music was rendered by a local choir.  The casket was literally covered with beautiful floral contributions from friends who sought to thus pay their last respects to the memory of the departed one.  The body was laid to rest in Mountain View cemetery.  In life Mrs. Cosgriff was loved by all that knew her, and in death the memory of her good deeds will continue to linger in the hearts of her multitude of friends.
