U-V SURNAMES

Vancleave, Paul Jr.

Big Timber, Nov. 24. - More than a sensation was created here over the arrest this week of Paul Vancleave, Jr., on two charges of cattle stealing.  His hearing has been set before Justice of the Peace Kiethley for December 6.  In the meantime, Mr. Vancleave has been released on bail bond furnished by a local bank.  The warrant charges Vancleave with the theft of livestock belonging to the Christiansens and Albertsons, respectively.  It is stated that Attorney General Rankin will assist in the prosecution, while Sterling Wood of Billings, has been employed as counsel for the accused.  Vancleave is one of the best-known residents of Sweet Grass county, having been born and raised here.  His father was one of the state's most prominent pioneers and a member of the constitutional convention.
