Phillips Ranch Cow Barn 1993

This picture is of the Frank G. Phillips cow barn, taken in 1993 (see the barn as it looked ca. 1915). The picture was taken by Daisy [Ruth Histed] Scouten, adopted daughter of Frank G. Phillips and Adella (Brooks). In Daisy's words written on the back "Retha [Ingram Schlupp], and I used to sit on the low roof and watch the world go by.

There wasn't much to do when we were kids." Retha was the younger sister of Joseph Price Ingram and Minnie Arabelle Robinson who homesteaded in eastern Montana near Ekalaka. Their son, Virgil Benjamin Ingram, married Pearl May Phillips and so Retha and Daisy were sisters-in-law.
