Butte's Famous Columbia Gardens about 1955

Columbia Gardens of Butte, Silver Bow County, MT.  Shown are  Dance Pavillion and floral display which was originally created from barren waste land, at a cost of a million dollars, by the Copper King, W. A. Clark, and later owned and operated by the Anaconda Copper Mining Company.  This site was razed in 1973 in wake of the need to expand open pit mining.
