Dear Pa & Ma, I came in town to day from hospital which is mile out of town and gotyour letter & draft & I assure you I appreciate your kindness. I came up heresecond day after writing to you as I could not get proper attention there at Malta. I am,so they say, doing fine. Dr. says I will soon be good as ever.  I will have to makeone more trip to the mountains & then I am done with holes in the ground. There is toomuch grief in it & hard work. Where is Geo living now & how is Josie & herfamily. Guess Nell was pleased to have a daughter added to her flock.  Yes, Pa, if Ican ever get my money back I am coming this winter and go into something where I can seeyou once in a while anyway.  I will have to stay here any way 5 weeks. Write to mesoon.  I see by the Eagle Ed has a wholesale house in Wichita. I always predicted hewould some day handle the country in the hardware line.  Your loving son, Charlie.
