Headwaters of the Roe River at Giant Springs

The Roe River begins at the Giant Springs and a short distance away empties into the Missouri River. 

From the sign about the Roe River "The Roe River is the shortest river, having an average length of 201 feet, is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. Lewis and Clark were the first white people to see the river in 1805. The name "Roe" means fish eggs and comes from it's proximity to the State Fish Hatchery. Lincoln School 5th Grade Class "87-88"
