Snowman in June, 1950 Coreen and Doris Vance

The date for this wintery scene was 6 June 1950.  The place was the Golden and Arleen Vance family farm in northwestern Cascade County, Montana, several miles north of Fort Shaw on what is known locally as the Crowe Bench; exact location: 47 degrees 36 feet north latitude at about 3900 feet altitude. However,  Montanaıs wild weather shifts know no manıs calendar and doesnıt seem to care about how high or how far from the Arctic Circle, it will still snow when it takes a notion and such ³June frosts² seem to happen at least a couple times each decade.  The girls posing with the snowman are Coreen Vance, age 15, and Doris Vance, age 7, younger daughters of Golden and Arleen Vance.  The snowmanıs hat and tie were taken from their fatherıs closet.
